Poor sleep alone costs the UK economy up to £40 billion a year in lost productivity and is projected to reach £47 billion by 2030 if current trends continue.

UK employees took an average of 9.4 sick days each in 2024 which is the highest level in 15 years.
That's 148.9 million working days lost to sickness or injury across the economy.
Minor illness, musculoskeletal problems and mental health conditions are the top three causes, in that order.

In property and construction, male construction workers take their own lives at roughly three to four times the national rate making this one of the highest-risk professions in the country. This is concentrated in the 45–54 age bracket that's usually running the sites, the bids and the boardroom.
In the last year, 54% of construction workers reported symptoms of anxiety or depression.

Most companies treat wellness as an event, not a strategy: a wellness week, a bowl of fruit in the canteen, a mindfulness Monday, a menopause breakfast with pastries.
Box ticked, survey scored, everyone moves on. Ask what changed six weeks later and the room goes quiet - because nothing did.

Nearly 85% of large employers now run some form of wellness programme, and global corporate spend on wellness is set to top $94.6 billion, yet burnout and mental health absence keep climbing.
In a UK poll, 79% of employees said they didn't believe their employer's wellbeing claims.
The problem is never the intention.
It's that none of it is measured, and none of it is built for the life your leader actually has.

It's a programme built around sleep, strength, nutrition and recovery, tracked with the same discipline as any other KPI running every week of the year, not just one.

Separate research across organisational psychology finds physically active people are consistently rated as more competent, more persuasive and more promotable a “halo effect” where looking after your team signals discipline, energy and leadership before you've said a word.

Training isn't vanity for a leaders it's part of how credibility gets built.

...and the one face-down on the sofa telling everyone I was “just tired.” I ran two businesses, a corporate role, a charity, a family, and a body I'd stopped listening to until it stopped negotiating and started shutting things down.
What changed wasn't a better calendar. It was better sleep, consistent training and eating like it mattered, tracked and adjusted like any other part of a business would be. What came back with it: sharper focus, more patience, more balance between the job and the people I go home to, and a level of confidence I hadn't felt in years. I believed in my own capacity again.
I now coach the people I used to be. The story is always the same: they think they need more time. What they actually need is more energy and that's built, measured and defended like any other asset.
I'm not selling you theory. I've spent 15 years in senior roles in property and construction, carrying the same bids, deadlines and boardroom pressure your leadership team carries every day.
I came to coaching later, and deliberately.
In the last two years I had to work out, for myself, exactly what it takes to actually perform at that level: cognitive sharpness, sleep, training, nutrition, recovery, not as separate boxes but as one system. That's not a certificate, it's lived experience solving the exact problem executives in this sector face, because I was one of them.
I've since backed that experience with formal training: Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training, Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instructing, and certification in Mental Health Awareness and First Aid, directly relevant to a sector where burnout and mental health risk are highest. I also hold specialist qualifications in supporting clients through pre/postnatal, menstrual cycle, and menopause-related health, so the programme accounts for the full range of people in your organisation, not just one profile of "executive."
I'm new to coaching as a profession. I'm not new to the problem.
Not “go to the gym and get your steps in.” A data-driven approach to performance through wellness, using the same metrics your team may already track on a wearable: sleep quality, resting heart rate, activity, recovery, nutrition adherence.
Real numbers, not guesswork all translated into what to prioritise and how to build a routine around a demanding role, not in competition with it. Data driven intelligent coaching that will tangibly optimise performance and well being.
Clients leave with more than good intentions. They leave with a clear read on their own wellness data, a diarised plan treated with the same discipline as a board meeting, and a measurable shift over time in the metrics that matter: sleep, energy, resilience under pressure.
Executives who manage their own wellness make better decisions, sustain focus for longer, and burn out less.
A leadership team that visibly prioritises wellness sets the tone for the culture beneath it - strengthening engagement and retention from graduate level up, in a sector already losing people it can't afford to lose.
The cost of implementing this is modest. The cost of not implementing it: attrition, disengagement, executives operating well below capacity, or worse, is not.
"One of my biggest goals was to make exercise and eating well a habit, something that became a natural part of my life rather than a chore. With Alison's support, I've managed to do that, even with a demanding schedule and two teenage boys to run around after."
Elaine, Architect
"Alison helped me prioritise myself without it consuming me. She found ways to fit good food and movement into my day that actually worked with my schedule. The impact went far beyond how I looked and I became more productive, my cognitive function sharpened, and I showed up better as a colleague, a leader, a mum and a Partner."
Claire, Partner
"My initial conversation with Alison reinforced her as someone who knows what its like to juggle the pressures of a professional career, kids and busy-life pressures alongside a fitness and
wellbeing programme."
Julia, Architect
"Everything she has recommended - from my training programme to my nutrition advice, has been tailored specifically to what I want to achieve. That personalised approach has kept my motivation high and made the process enjoyable. A few weeks in, l am already seeing good progress towards my goals, which is a testament to the structure, training, and guidance
Alison has provided."
Grant, Board Director
"The accountability and honesty is fantastic. Thoroughly recommend if you get the opportunity, grab it with both hands as I don't think you'll find a better coach that understands
work/life/physical challenges"
Shona, Director
